If you are forced to move at least fifty miles for career relocation, then you can write off some of these expenses as business related:

  • Transportation and packing of furniture or belongings
  • Moving insurance
  • Temporary storage facilities while you search
  • Donations: anything that you give to Goodwill or Salvation Army stores can be written off, if you keep an itemized receipt.
