Some of the landlords that I have called from your listings claim that they only list with a different advertising company exclusively. What does this mean?

Many apartment complexes and communities have an overall owner, and then employ local managers for each location or building. It may be that the owner of the buildings only advertises with their own agents, but the building manager posted their vacancies with us without the approval of the building owner. In some cases, our drivers find the property by driving by it and add it.

This should not pose any problems to you during your search, but if any landlords refuse to talk to you because you came from a competitors advertising agency, you can simply say that you drove past the properties and saw the 'For Rent' sign, or that you spoke with one of the other tenants.
